A fascinating visitor

On waking this morning I looked out on a narrow band of clouds filtering the early sun’s rays across the calm lake. Oh, but it was beautiful! The delightful smell of fresh coffee slipped into my bedroom. Already I am thinking this will be a great day. Imagine my surprise an hour later when I looked out my backdoor window to see a small brownish fox exploring our fence line. As I watched, it found a break in the wood and jumped out of view. Minutes later it reappeared to meander back down the road. Sadly it was now moving away from me. Every once in a while it would stop and look into the field probably searching for breakfast. Once it froze, cocked its head, then pounced and with a couple of hops and a shake it was off again down the path. Who needs tv news when you get to witness nature happening?

With a sigh, I returned to my tasks. Remember, I said to myself, we have very busy weekend with guests arriving by noon. Even in paradise there are beds to make and many gardens to weed! Wishing you a glorious day visiting Colbornes’s 150th Anniversary, the Sand Castle Festival in Cobourg, Brighton’s History Weekend at Presqu’ile Provincial Park,The Port Hope Weekend Arts and Culture Festival and naturally the local farmers markets, wineries etc. And with a great July weekend how about some great golf?
