Loughbreeze Photographic Expression
Last Friday we began our Photo Expression session led by Terry Self at 6:30 AM. Testing our senses to make sure everyone was fully awake and acclimatized to the world before the sunrise, we focused on Lake Ontario’s wave patterns. As we selected vantage points and set up our tripods we watched the golden red sky adjusting to the rising sun pushing to break the horizon.
Early mornings are a very special time and even more so at Loughbreeze where the expanse of Lake Ontario and Presqu’ile Provincial Park dominate. Naturally there are horizon lights from the North Shore as well as broadcast towers beacons, but this morning the air is crisp. A tiny sliver of moon is moving just ahead of the rising sun and the heavens are sprinkled with beautiful stars. In this cold but incredible lake setting we set up to take our pictures. Once the sun rises we head in for coffee and raisin toast.
Now we download our pictures into our Apple Computer and explain, endure our critique. Today’s workshop with the good, the bad, and I wish I could have done better is rewarding history. We’ll be back next month after we digest today’s lessons and re-read our manuals. Later this month we will be posting photographs on our web site for your perusal and I hope pleasure and we would be delighted to post some of your credited shots along with those from Loughbreeze. All best wishes from Loughbreeze B&B, secluded privacy in the middle of everything.
